8th Grade Retreat

The 8th‑grade retreat at St. Micheal the Archangel Catholic School was a beautiful and transformative day for our soon‑to‑be graduates. Held in the parish hall and chapel, the retreat offered students a chance to step away from their busy routines and spend intentional time reflecting on their faith, their friendships, and the journey that lies ahead. Guided by Sister Catherine Marie and the parish youth ministry team, the day began with prayer and Scripture, inviting students to consider how God has been present in their lives throughout their years at St. Micheal’s.

Students participated in small‑group discussions, team‑building activities, and guided journaling that encouraged them to think deeply about leadership, gratitude, and the kind of disciples they hope to become in high school and beyond. One of the most meaningful moments came during quiet time in the chapel, where students were invited to sit before the Blessed Sacrament in peaceful reflection. Many described this as the first time they had truly slowed down to listen for God’s voice in their hearts.

After a shared lunch and a few joyful group activities, the retreat concluded with a special Mass celebrated by Father Brennan. He reminded the students that they are called to carry Christ’s light into the world and that their years at St. Micheal’s have prepared them well for the next chapter. The retreat left the class feeling united, renewed, and ready to embrace their final months together with purpose and faith.
