Recently, the St. Matthew Varsity CYO boys basketball team secured the Region 1 championship with a commanding 40-22 victory over St. Christopher. The team, composed of high school juniors and seniors, showcased impressive coordination and strategic play throughout the season. Coached by Anthony Mariani and Anthony Conte, the players—Seamus Hart, Timothy Gress, Christopher Coulter, Eric Smith, Ryder Stearn, Christian Haigh, Jagger Welsch, Michael Gambone, Michael Schuster, and James Conte—worked tirelessly to achieve their championship win.
